Your Y.O. Ranch Adventure will take place in the heart of the Y.O. Ranch’s 40,000 acres located in the ruggedly beautiful Texas Hill Country just 100 miles Northwest of San Antonio. The Y.O. was founded by Captain Charles Schreiner, who immigrated from Alsace-Lorraine to Texas with his family in 1852. Captain Schreiner, who took full acquisition of the ranch in 1880, financed the purchase of the ranch through hard work driving cattle along the Western Trail to Dodge City. It didn't take long for the brand to gain popularity as the Captain sent some 150,000 head of Texas Longhorns up the trail during the heyday of the big cattle drives. Over the years the Y.O. Ranch, which has one of the largest registered herd of Texas Longhorns in the world, has maintained its authentic ranch style atmosphere. With the addition of unique opportunities for its guests, the Y.O. Ranch is known for its legendary Texas hospitality.
The Y.O. Ranch is home to the nation's largest collection of natural roaming exotic animals. Over 10,000 animals make their home on the Y.O. which includes 55 different species, approximately 25 of which are available for hunting. Children especially love coming to the Y.O. to participate in the different outdoor programs offered at the Y.O. Adventure Camp.
